The Course Structure

Part 1 - Learning the Foundations

In the first part of the course you will begin exploring the intricacies of the 27 week curriculum conducted in the School - the same Themes presented week by week in the Basic and Essential classes will be covered to greater detail with attention to breaking down each pose into understandable components. Anatomy and physiology lessons will be incorporated into the mix to deepen your understanding of safety and alignment. You will also start to understand teaching methodology and sequencing as you prepare  to conduct mock classes for your fellow trainees during the second part of the course.

Part 2 - Retreat to Bali

In the second part of the course you will spend nine days in a peaceful Vegetarian Resort in Bali. This will be time spent immersed in a 24/7 Yogic lifestyle, away from the distractions of daily life, that has the potential to bring about a positive change in your mental and physical well being, The schedule is intense and the demands are high, but the product of the work done in these nine days which will set the foundation for nurturing strong and radiant teachers with an unequivocal Inner Guidance.

In these nine days you will be observing:

  • Shatkarma or body purification, traditional practices of cleansing and detoxifying the body

  • Eating three vegetarian meals a day

  • Mental purification with Tratakas and other concentration practices.

  • Subtle bodywork with Pranayama, bandha and mudra

  • Dhyana or meditation

  • Study of Samkhya Philosophy, the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras

  • Intense asana work

Part 3 - Graduation

For the final three weeks, you will put the pieces of the puzzle together and apply what you've learnt to craft your final graduation class, a 60-minute practice designed and executed by you and attended by your classmates.

In preparing for your graduation class, you will learn how to effectively bring together class themes and intentions into effective and seamless Hatha and Vinyasa sequences. You’ll also deepen your anatomical knowledge as you begin relating theory to practice, working with your sense of touch as you undergo intensive training to learn to effectively correct and adjust students. You will also learn to identify and work with common health and medical conditions as well as different body types.
