About the Trainer
“Nithya Priyan School of Yoga is an extraordinary one. Not only is the structured learning approach unique, the school itself has a beautiful supportive atmosphere in which I immediately felt at home. Priyans YTT was excellent, very detailed, structured and of high quality. Even with restrictions because of the ongoing Covid situation, he made great efforts to accommodate so that we do not miss out in our education. Priyan holds everyone to his highest and gives both, room to develop ourselves as teachers and personal guidance. I feel that during this YTT I learned so much more than what is in the books and I am truly thankful to be a part of this.”
Nithya Priyan
Lead Trainer and Founder of the Nithya Priyan School of Yoga
Priyan describes his classes as poses teaching poses. His sequences are peak pose based structured progressions that intelligently and succinctly prepare a person's body for the requirements of the peak pose while developing muscle memory and proprioception,
He is a compassionate teacher that creates a space of safety and acceptance around the students who come seeking the calm and peace he radiates.
He inspires by example, himself grounded in a strong and consistent practice. His students are not pushed towards unsafe and unreachable goals but are pulled towards the Joy of exploring their boundaries and possibilities.
His boundless energy led him to pursue an intense full-time teaching career. He developed a structured approach to Yoga Asana's learning that benefits his students in establishing a long-term comprehensive understanding of the practice.
Noting the absence of such an approach in the current yoga environment, he founded the Nithya Priyan School of Yoga, where a chosen team of teachers are now taking this structured approach a step further as the School's 27-week curriculum.
Priyan sees the 300 Hour Teacher Training as a continuation of the initial 200 Hour offering. He will provide the same quality guidance to provide a continuing education towards the path towards Mastery & proficiency in his students.
“As a recent graduate of the 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program at Nithya Priyan School of Yoga, I found the curriculum to be comprehensive, encompassing a wide range of Yoga Styles, Philosophy, Anatomy, and Teaching Methodologies.
Priyan’s passion for yoga is infectious, and his expertise is evident in every class and discussion. His guidance helped me deepen my practice and grow as a teacher in ways I never imagined.
I feel empowered and ready to share the gifts of yoga with others, thanks to the wisdom imparted by Priyan and the supportive community fostered by the school.
