Yoga Foundations - Three part Course for Beginners

Yoga Foundations is a three part course which details the basic components of a safe and sustainable practice in a simple and structured way.

Through a series of talks, demonstrations, breakdowns and written notes, as well as plenty of practice time, this will be a beautiful starting point towards understanding the practice from the ground up.

Also assisting Yuko and Priyan will be students from the ongoing 200 Hours Yoga Teacher Training Course. Expect plenty of hands-on guidance and individual attention during these sessions!

This course is suitable for Beginners to the Yoga Practice but also for Regular Practitioners who wish to strengthen their foundations.

Part 1: Breath / Sat 23 Nov 2-4pm

Learning to breath correctly in your practice transforms it into a beautiful flowing meditation. In this session we start from pranayama and breath awareness practice, then move into a detailed learning of the sun salutaitons.

Part 2: Stability / Sat 30 Nov 2-4pm

We explore bodily engagements that add to the lightness and stability and take this understanding into a series of basic standing poses to deepen our understanding of their effective alignments.

Part 3: Balance / Sat 7 Dec 2-4pm

We begin with the practice of Dhristi or gaze as a foundation for exploring standing balances, arm support poses and simple entry level arm balance and inversions.
